Accounting Manager

ACCOUNTING MANAGER
We are looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager, reporting to the Corporate Controller, to act as the technical accounting lead, and own the technical accounting aspects of the period-end close process for Cyan. Key areas of focus will include revenue recognition, international accounting and consolidations, accounting for stock-based compensation, financial reporting and audit coordination, and establishment and monitoring of internal controls. The successful candidate will be able to implement efficient processes and controls to ensure the timeliness and reliability of financial data and reports.  
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Revenue recognition for hardware, software and service related contracts and purchase orders
  • Calculation of stock-based compensation
  • Management of the accounting function for international subsidiaries and offices, and consolidation for financial reporting
  • Audit planning, preparation and coordination
  • Drafting of position papers for key accounting issues and new pronouncements
  • Financial reporting and drafting of appropriate footnotes and disclosures for both internal and external users
  • Margin analysis and related account reconciliations
  • Development, introduction, and maintenance of policies and procedures/internal controls
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS DESIRED
  • Accounting or Finance degree
  • 5-10 years accounting experience
  • CPA and Big 4 experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of the GAAP codification and the ability to perform accounting research as required
  • Strong computer skills including advanced Excel skills and the proven ability to learn new accounting software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to interact with individuals both internally and externally
  • Ability to multitask as well as handle multiple deadlines with ease
  • Must be able to work independently as well as work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
  • Detail, action, and goal-oriented, with the ability to follow through and drive projects to timely completion
