Wireless Backhaul

Cyan's Z-Series multi-layer transport systems and Cy360 software systems provide the industry's first TowerAware^SM wireless backhaul solutions. TowerAware represents an application specific use-case of Cyan's broader Service Level Aware Network^SM solution capability, with temperature hardened outside plant (OSP) chassis' and service modules which provide the ultimate in wireless backhaul service performance and scalability!

As mobile service providers transition to LTE/4G mobile technologies, they demand high-capacity, high-performance Ethernet services transport with some of the industry's most demanding service level agreements (SLAs). Cyan's Z-Series packet-optical transport platforms provide the ultimate flexibility to support these services using MEF 9 & 14 certified Ethernet solutions with guaranteed sub 50 ms protection switching, guaranteed throughput, latency, timing and other key SLA performance parameters meeting even the most stringent mobile service provider requirements.

Cyan recently added serveral enhancements to the Z-Series portfolio such as OSP cabinets supporting Cyan's Z-Series and select CyAlliance partner products for added flexibility to push packet-optical transport scale and performance deeper into the network edge, upto and including the cell tower. The result is the ability to push 1 Gigabit, 10 Gigabit and N x 10 Gigabit Ethernet services across the network edge, for virtually unlimited network scale, with superior performance.

Cyan has also continues to add feature enhancements to CyPlan, a powerful multi-layer network design and planning service which now allows the import of Tower Grid data into CyPlan with Google Maps illustrations.  This TowerAware network planning capability clearly illustrates the physical location of cell towers and wireless backhaul systems for accurately planning the current and long-term capacity requirements and performance attributes of wireless backhaul links, rings and mesh networks.

Cyan's unique and revolutionary CyMS - multi-layer management system enhances SLA performance with clear and intuitive 3-dimensional multi-layer visualizations which simplify operations with simple A-to-Z point and click provisioning, and multi-layer fault correlation for rapid fault isolation. CyMS also provides the ability to sort network views based on specific services or even specific wireless backhaul customer's services and the associated virtual wireless backhaul network for a true TowerAware wireless backhaul management solutions.

Last but not least, Cyan's recently introduced CyPortal multi-layer SLA verification service gives wireless backhaul providers added capabilities to enhance their services with a customer portal providing real-time SLA performance details to their wireless backhaul customers. As these wireless service providers log into the CyPortal service, they are presented with a Google Maps illustration showing their cell towers and wireless backhaul service connections from each tower back to the associated mobile switching center. Color coding clearly illustrates which, if any, of the service connections are operating outside of a pre-defined set of SLA performance parameters. Detailed tables and real-time performance data charting provides all of the information required for wireless service providers to quickly assess the performance of the wireless backhaul services, while maintaining all operational control within the wireless backhaul service providers network.
