JOB DESCRIPTION

The Packet Transport Management Systems role focuses on the Management System Servers and Client Interfaces. We are seeking software developers with advanced computer science skills to work on network-wide server databases, resource managers, graphical user interfaces, and standards based machine-to-machine interfaces. This role requires software developers that can champion the perspective of end-users. The requirement is to use the latest technology to present data in the most economical and intuitive form, and to support safe control of the network in the fewest number of clicks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Empower users to provision and maintain next-generation transport Ethernet services.
  • Develop Web 2.0 powered service dashboard.
  • Engage comfortably in engineering debates. Contribute to requirements specifications that clearly capture the scope and functional behavior of the envisioned product.
  • Participate in design reviews to elevate the quality of the overall product. Contribute constructive evaluations of other engineers’ ideas, design documents, and actual code. Accept the constructive feedback from other engineers.
  • Leverage relationships with members of your and other teams to rapidly resolve integration issues with other software components.
  • Help establish the baseline quality of feature set by developing automated test cases.  
  • Fix defects in new or existing software, troubleshoot field issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Object oriented programming abilities
  • Experience with Python and next-generation programming methods
  • Strong coding skills, capable of writing high-quality clean code
  • Experience with Linux and programming for Linux
  • Experience with highly distributed, scalable systems
  • Understanding of platform boot-up and device drivers
  • TMF MTNM, ITU G.800/805
  • Good organizational skills and working habits
  • Comprehensive problem-solving abilities
  • Solid communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently
