Scott Bauer - Chief Financial Officer

Scott is responsible for financial operations, legal and IT at Cyan.

Scott is a seasoned finance executive bringing nearly 20 years of experience building both private and publicly traded technology companies. Scott has a diverse background with experience in financial operations, mergers and acquisitions, business development, international operations and securities offerings.

Most recently, Scott was Chief Financial Officer for Yipes Enterprise Services, Inc. a leading provider of managed Ethernet services to the enterprise. While at Yipes, Scott drove the company’s revenue growth as well as expansion of margins, culminating in its acquisition by Reliance Communications, Inc.

Prior to Yipes, Scott served as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller of Ask Jeeves Inc. and During his tenure with the publicly held search portal, Bauer was responsible for worldwide external reporting, treasury and accounting and related finance functions. He was part of the management team that oversaw the company’s return to profitability and transition to a high-margin company. Ask Jeeves was acquired by IAC/Interactive Corporation in 2005.

Scott has also held various leadership roles at Barclays Global Investors, an asset management firm, and Arthur Andersen LLP, a professional services firm. Scott holds a bachelor's degree in business economics from the University of California-Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of Southern California. He is a CFA® charterholder and a certified public accountant (CPA).
