Cyan Press Release
Cyan to Discuss Networking Innovations at Ethernet Expo Americas
Cyan CTO Steve West Joins Executives from Fujitsu, Ciena, and Transmode to Discuss how Packet-Optical Transport Solutions Address Real-World Networking Issues
Cyan today announced it will participate in a panel session at Light Reading’s Ethernet Expo Americas 2011, taking place November 8 and 9 at the Hilton New York in New York City. Cyan Chief Technology Officer Steve West will join Heavy Reading’s Sterling Perrin as well as executives from Fujitsu Network Communications, Ciena, and Transmode to discuss innovative networking solutions and the primary applications driving the need for packet-optical transport systems with advanced software support systems.
As packet-optical transport networks continue to expand toward both the core and access portions of the network, various applications are driving the need to deploy the three types of packet-optical transport systems (P-OTS): Core P-OTS, Metro/Regional P-OTS, and Access Edge P-OTS.
In the panel session titled “Network Solutions: Packet-Optical Transport & Switching Innovation,” West will share current innovative networking solutions and how they are addressing real-world problems. Perrin will moderate the discussion, which will define the requirements of each class of packet-optical transport equipment, including enabling technologies such as OTN switching with ODU0 and ODUflex, connection-oriented Ethernet, multi-degree ROADMs and optical control planes.

The “Network Solutions: Packet-Optical Transport & Switching Innovation” panel will be held at Ethernet Expo Americas 2011, November 8, 2011, from 4:10 p.m. to 5:10 p.m. EDT
